All
new hearing aids are dispensed on a 45 day trial period
with a $150 non refundable trial fee. The hearing aid
user is asked to pay for hearing aid(s) when received
and will be refunded the full fee less the $150 trial
fee if the hearing aid(s) are returned in good working
condition within the 45 day trial period.
All new hearing
aids have a two-year manufacturers warranty. Some hearing
aids have a one-year accidental loss and damage policy.
Additional warranty and loss and damage policies can
usually be purchased also. The exact warranty will be
explained when the hearing aid is placed on the wearer.
There
are many different hearing aid sizes and technologies.
In general, hearing aid prices start around $800 for
one good quality, conventional, full-shell in-the-ear
(ITE) hearing aid and may go up to $2800 for one digital
completely -in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aid.
Theoretically,
most people with similar hearing loss in each ear are
able to understand better in difficult situations if
a hearing aid is used in each ear. Sometimes that is
not the case and one hearing aid may provide as much
benefit as two. This varies greatly from person to person
and is one of the reasons for the hearing aid trial
period. |
